 WJO COVID-19 safety - Centre Culturel Franco-Manitobain

Concerts at the CCFM will continue to require proof of vaccination and masks - vaccination cards which match picture ID must be shown with the ID. Masks must be worn in the venue.  Seating could be up to 100% capacity.

Below is a description of how we are trying to keep you safe at the Mainstage concerts:

We want to provide the safest live music experience possible to our patrons, musicians, volunteers and staff. To do so we ask that anyone planing on attending a live event take the screening test
here and stay home if they feel at all un-well. We are also providing a streamed version of the Mainstage concerts to Mainstage subscribers so they can watch in their homes. We also provide an online subscription for jazz-loving patrons to continue to enjoy this music in the safety and comfort of their own home. We thank you for following safety protocols to keep fellow Manitobans safe. It is our wish to continue to bring you the best in live jazz music in a responsible and safe manner.

Handicapped patrons who cannot use stairs are asked to self-identify when they purchase tickets and to ushers when they arrive.
Screening questions:
Please self screen at this site (https://sharedhealthmb.ca/covid19/screening-tool/) before attending any WJO event. Please stay home if you have any symptoms of COVID and send us an email. We will gladly send you the link to a recorded version of the concert or refund your money.
Sanitization and Safety Precautions:
We ask patrons to follow the health safety protocols as follows:
- Before leaving home, please self-screened by reading the list of questions here.
- We ask that patrons do not arrive more than 30 minutes before a concert.
- We require that all patrons wear a mask the whole time they are in the venue. (Multi-use WJO masks are for pre-sale on our website here. Disposable masks are provided complimentary if you have forgotten yours.)
- Please sanitize your hands upon arrival.
- Please keep a six-foot distance from the person in front of you.
- We request a one or two seat distance between "family bubbles or cohorts" - We will attempt a checkerboard design so there will be empty seats in front and beside each cohort. (Sorry no seating preferences.)  We ask that you sit on your coats to facilitate a speedy entrance and exit.
- The concert program will be available on our website a day before and a week after each Mainstage performance. It can be viewed on your phone or mobile device. QR codes for the program will be displayed at thre hall. Pieces will also be introduced during the concert.
- Patrons will exit, row by row, as shown by ushers.
- We ask that patrons exit quickly and not interact with others in the auditorium or lobby areas.
Venue Safety Precautions:
Our venues all follow health safety protocols as follows:
- seats and high touch points will be sanitized before every concert.
- stanchions will be used to guide lineups and keep people a safe distance from each other.
- barriers will be used in any interaction with patrons that cannot be distanced (scanning tickets, etc.)
- hand sanitizer is available at the entrance and exit

The Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra welcomes and shares its performance and creation of music - a universal language to all people irrespective of culture, race, sexuality, ability, language and gender.
Music is an agent of hope. A dynamic and valuable device that helps us to heal and to bring us together. The First Peoples of Canada understood this and used music to reunite, resolve and reconcile.  In the spirit of reconciliation, we acknowledge that WJO activities take place on Treaty Territory – land that was maintained and earnestly cared for by Indigenous peoples before European settlement.  Manitoba is the original lands of Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene peoples, and is the homeland of the Métis Nation.  We acknowledge that Winnipeg benefits daily from Treaty 3 water that comes from Shoal Lake 40.  It is with sincere sentiment that we recognize the mistakes of our recent and distant past.  In working towards a Canada that benefits us all, we commit to seeking a greater understanding of Canada’s diverse cultural relationships through continued work with Indigenous communities; we commit to live in ways that honour and respect the treaties that were made on these territories; and we commit to stewarding the land in harmony for all who will come after us.
