VOLUNTEER WITH THE WINNIPEG JAZZ ORCHESTRA
Board of Directors - volunteer member
The Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra is looking for a working board member with an interest in promoting the performance of, creation of, and education in big band jazz. We desire someone with experience in accounting or finance, HR, marketing, or law to volunteer approximately 4-10 hours a month for a two-year term. Board meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month (September through June) at 6 pm.
The Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra (formed in 1997 and incorporated in 2002) performs an eclectic range of music within the big band idiom, commissions new works and engages students (and patrons!) with interactive educational opportunities. We value diversity, equity and inclusion in our hiring practices and reach out to diverse audiences. We are looking for new board members who honour our goals and values. Experience in finance, HR, marketing or law would be welcomed, as would members of diverse communities. In addition to guiding the organization and attending most events, board members are expected to contribute their talents in practical ways suited to them. The WJO would love to get to know you.
More information about the WJO can be found at https://www.winnipegjazzorchestra.com/who-we-are.html. Please apply with your bio and related experience to manager@winnipegjazzorchestra.com or fill out the form below.
We are also looking for non-board volunteers to become members of a committee or a short-term project. If you are passionate about helping big band jazz thrive in Manitoba, apply to manager@winnipegjazzorchestra.com or fill out the form below and state your interests and skills.
